Archie the Teddy Bear

Rusty, age-bitten fluff
Spewing from loose neck,
I always squeezed you
Too tight.

Thick scent, embedded in head,
Of countless nights crying,
Laughing, sleeping.

Long-forgotten childhood
Escapades, locked in your
Safe, beady gaze.

For years, you’ve shared my life,
And you’ll share my life,
For years to come.
