Bound for Dreams

Deep in frost-bitten night,
Stars flicker
Off and on.

Streams of left-behind
Sunset-cloud
Flutter like sails,
Dead in the water.

It’s snaking mist
Tangles the stars together,
Crafting a nautical shape.

Onward it floats,
Locked in a
Golden moon glow,
Into the dreams
Of youth’s gambling
Imaginations.
